JALAZONE REFUGEES CAMP 09th OF MAY 2023

PA.I.S France also visited the Jalazone camp.

Jalazone is a Palestinian refugee camp on the outskirt of Ramallah established in 1949, in the West Bank. It hosts around 16.000 refugees. Most are from Lydda (Lod) and central areas of Palestine.

During our visit, guided by Mr.Nasser SHARAYAA, Director General of the Executive Office Refugees Popular Committees, we discovered the training room open to students.

The computers delivered by PA.I.S France allow students to learn computers tools for school education and general culture courses.

Once comfortable with the various manipulations of tools and programs, students become trainers.

Mr. Nasser made us visit part of the camp. We were able to eat plain pitas and zaatar (thyme) pitas as well as falafels prepared especially for us.

We also shared coffee and tea with inhabitants from Jalazone. Despite their difficult condition, we were welcomed very warmly and we had a talk with them.

Before leaving Mr. Nasser, we stopped to take the last three pictures of the general view of the camp.
